EDDY CURRENT TESTING
- The technique works generating eddy current in the material to be tested and the analyzing the change in the impedance of the eddy current due to discontinuities in the material.
- Eddy current is generated and detected using two oppositely wounded coils in Absolute and Differential Mode.
- Inspect Non-Ferrous tubes such as SS, Ti, Cu-Ni, Admiralty, Brass. etc.
- ID and OD defects can be differentiated.
- Defects under baffle can be detected.
- Highly sensitive to small cracks and pit like defects.
- Thorough cleaning is required as 85% Fill factor probe is used.
- Pulling is speed is high as compared to RFET.
